The Light That Holds Your Unsent Words
The cursor blinks in the dark, waiting for words that no longer have a home. You type out the whole story—the mistake, the apology, the ache—only to highlight it all and press delete.
The screen goes blank. You realize they wouldn't care anymore, and the silence of the room feels heavier than the words you just erased.
But listen—there is a silence deeper than their indifference. In this hour, when the world is asleep and your explanations have nowhere to go, the light does not ask for your defense.
It simply sits with you in the unsent. You do not need to be understood by them to be held by the light.
The father saw his son while he was still a long way off, before the speech was even finished, before the shame could be confessed. He ran.
The embrace came before the apology. Your worth is not tied to their reception of your words.
The light knows what you deleted. It knows what you meant to say.
And it loves you not because you explained yourself, but because you are here, breathing in the dark. The unsent words are not lost; they are held in a place where no one can ignore them.
You are known, even in your silence.
