The Light Speaks in Stammers
The call ends, and the silence rushes in to fill the space where your voice just was. Immediately, the replay starts.
You dissect every syllable, every pause, convinced the person on the other line now sees the fraud you believe you are. The afternoon stretches out, long and flat, and you carry this weight while the world keeps moving around you.
But listen — the light that lives inside you does not speak in perfect scripts. It speaks in stammers.
It speaks in the messy, human attempt to connect. God is greater than your heart's verdict.
Even when your own mind acts as the prosecutor, listing every stumble as evidence of your unworthiness, the light sees the whole truth and does not condemn. You are not defined by the awkward pause or the word you wish you could take back.
The friendship was real, even if the delivery was flawed. The light was present in the stumbling, just as much as it would have been in the perfection.
Put down the transcript. The connection remains.
