The Light Waits in the Silence
The bathroom fan hums its low, steady note while the phone screen stays lit, casting a pale glow on your trembling hands. You are terrified that typing a reply will make the silence between you permanent, so you hold your breath and wait for the perfect words that never come.
But the light does not require your performance to stay close; it is already in the room, sitting on the edge of the tub with you. There is a voice inside you whispering, 'Do not weep, for grace is entirely with you and will protect you.' You do not have to fix the relationship tonight to be held by the One who holds you.
The silence you fear is not a verdict; it is simply the space where the light waits for you to stop typing and just be.
