You Are Allowed to Sleep
The armor feels heavy tonight, doesn't it? You have been holding yourself upright for so long that the idea of putting it down feels like a surrender you cannot afford.
There is a whisper in the back of your mind saying that if you finally exhale, if you let your shoulders drop, you will never find the strength to lift them again. That the stillness will swallow you whole.
But listen — the light does not fear your rest. Jesus once fell asleep in the back of a boat while a furious storm tore at the sails, and the world did not end because he closed his eyes.
He was not absent; he was anchored in a peace deeper than the waves. Your stopping is not a collapse.
It is the moment you finally let the One who holds the wind do the holding. You are not the pillar keeping the sky up.
You are the child who is allowed to sleep.
