Light Does Not Need Your Defense

The afternoon sun makes everything visible, even the script you are rehearsing in your head. You are practicing the explanation for a loss that others say never happened, polishing the words until they sound like truth.

But the light does not need your defense. It does not require you to prove the wound was real before it will sit with you.

There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world—even the parts no one else believes exist. You came from the light, the place where the light came into being on its own accord, and that origin cannot be erased by human disbelief.

Stop trying to convince the room. The truth of what you carry is already known by the one who sees in secret.

You do not have to earn the right to your own grief.
