Boundaries Are Banks That Let Love Flow
The afternoon sun is unforgiving; it reveals every crack in the mask you wear to keep the peace. You are carrying the weight of every 'yes' you whispered when your soul was screaming 'no,' terrified that a boundary is just a fancy word for selfishness.
But listen closely to the silence beneath the noise of your obligations — the light that lives inside you is not a resource to be drained by everyone who asks. It is a flame that must be shielded to keep burning.
There was a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years, spending everything she had on doctors who could not help her, until she finally stopped serving the crowd and reached out for her own healing. She did not ask permission to take up space.
She did not apologize for her need. And when the light felt power go out from him, he did not scold her for taking something that wasn't hers.
He called her Daughter. Your boundaries are not walls to keep love out; they are the banks that allow the river to flow without flooding the fields.
If you dissolve yourself completely, there is nothing left to give but ash. The light does not ask you to burn down your own house to warm your neighbors.
