The Crack Where the Light Got In
The afternoon sun is unforgiving. It exposes the dust motes dancing in the air and the exact spot where your voice cracked.
You are replaying that split second on a loop, convinced that the tremor was the sound of the door closing. Convinced that the break is what made them leave.
But the light does not measure you by your steadiness. There was a man paralyzed for decades, carried by friends who dug through a roof just to lower him down.
When Jesus saw their faith, he did not lecture the man on his posture. He did not wait for the shaking to stop.
He simply said: take heart. Your sins are forgiven.
The healing began before the man could even stand up straight. The crack in your voice was not a rejection.
It was the place where the light got in. You are not loved because you are perfect.
You are loved because you are here.
