You Are the Space Where Light Lives
The afternoon sun is high, but inside, the shadows are lengthening faster than the clock moves. You are afraid that if you turn off the last light, the darkness will finally have nothing to fight against but you.
As if the light were a shield you hold up, and without it, you would be consumed. But listen — the darkness has never overcome the light, not because the light is loud, but because it simply is.
You are not the thing fighting the dark; you are the space where the light lives. Split a piece of wood, and the light is there.
Lift up the stone, and you will find it there. It does not depend on your lamp.
It does not depend on your vigilance. The light is not a tool you use; it is the ground you stand on.
You can let the switch click off. The dawn inside you does not need the sun.
