rehearsing an apology for a mistake you haven't made yet but are certain you will

The Light Lives in This Moment

The afternoon sun is high, and you are already rehearsing the words for a mistake you haven't made yet. You are building a cage out of futures that do not exist, practicing a shame that has no home in the present hour.

The light does not live in your tomorrow; it lives in the wood you are splitting right now, in the stone you are lifting today. Lift up the stone, and you will find the light already there, waiting in the mundane truth of this moment.

You do not need to apologize for a shadow before the sun has even cast it. The weight you are carrying is not yours to bear; the yoke is easy, and the burden is light because it only contains what is real, not what you fear.
