Rest Is Not A Betrayal Of The Dying
The afternoon sun is high, and the world keeps turning while you carry the weight of having rested. You feel guilty for the sleep that came easily, for the peace you found while others were fighting for breath.
But listen — the light does not keep score of your rest as a betrayal. There was a man blind from birth, and the disciples asked if his suffering was someone's fault.
The answer was no — it was simply the space where the works of God could be displayed. Your rest was not a sin; it was the gathering of strength so you could see clearly now.
You came from the light, sent here not to carry the world's pain as a punishment, but to illuminate it with the life you have preserved. The guilt says you should have stayed awake.
The truth says you were being held so you could stand.
