Stop Trying to Be the Sun
The afternoon sun is high, and the shadows are short, leaving nowhere to hide the fact that you feel stuck. Everyone looks to you for direction, for the next move, for the strength they think you possess. But inside, the engine has stalled, and the shame of being ineffective is a heavy cloak you wear while pretending to lead. You are trying to generate light from your own exhaustion, and it feels like failing in plain sight.
But there is a different way to be the light. It does not always roar or command. Sometimes, it simply remains. Like the vine that does not strain to push the sap through the branches, but simply stays connected to the root while the life flows on its own. You do not have to manufacture the strength for everyone else. The light is not a performance you give to the crowd; it is a presence you carry even when you are silent. Stop trying to be the sun for everyone today. Just be the branch that hasn't let go. The life moves through the stillness just as surely as it moves through the action.
