Lay Down the Weight of Being God
The afternoon sun is heavy, and the world keeps moving while someone you love is stuck in the dark. You feel that closing your eyes is a betrayal—that your rest is a luxury they cannot afford, a turning away from their pain.
But listen: the light does not ask you to stay awake to prove your love. There was a night when the light itself was overwhelmed with sorrow, falling on its face in a garden, begging for the cup to pass.
It did not shame the disciples for sleeping. It simply asked them to stay.
Your rest is not abandonment. It is the quiet trust that the One who watches over your loved one never sleeps.
You are not the guardian of their breath. You are the branch, and the Vine holds them even when your hands are too tired to pray.
Lay down the weight of being God. The light is awake so you don't have to be.
