The Light Stands In Your Darkest Questions
The afternoon sun is bright, but inside you, a shadow is growing that you are too afraid to name. You look at your child and wonder if they would be safer with someone else, and the shame of that thought feels like it could swallow you whole.
But listen — the light does not run from your darkest questions. It stands right here in the middle of them with you.
Jesus looked out at the crowds and saw people who were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd, and his heart broke for them. That same heart breaks for you now, not in judgment, but in mercy.
You are not a monster for having the thought; you are a human being who is exhausted and scared. The light is not afraid of your honesty.
It is already holding both you and your child in the same breath. You do not have to be perfect to be loved.
You just have to be here.
