He Ran Before You Spoke
The afternoon sun is bright, and yet the shadows of what happened to you as a child can feel longer than the day itself. You might be wondering if it was really that bad, or if you are just making too much of a small thing.
The light does not minimize your pain to make it easier to carry. There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off — he did not wait for the apology or the explanation.
He ran. Before the speech, before the justification — he ran.
Your suffering does not need to meet a certain threshold to be held. The truth that lives inside you knows exactly what you carried.
It validates the weight you have been holding alone. You are not exaggerating the darkness you walked through.
The light sees it all, and it calls you beloved anyway.
