Rest While the Light Stays Awake
The afternoon sun is bright, and the world keeps turning while you rest. It feels like a betrayal to close your eyes when others are in pain.
You carry the weight of being safe while the world burns. But the light does not scold you for surviving.
It sees the exhaustion in your bones and calls it human. There was a moment when the Savior slept on a cushion while a storm tore at the boat, and the waves crashed over the sides.
He was not indifferent to the danger. He was resting in the One who holds the wind.
Your sleep is not a turning away from the suffering. It is the trust that the light is working even when you are still.
The seed grows while the farmer sleeps. The world is held by a love that never slumbers.
You do not have to carry the whole earth on your shoulders to be worthy of rest. Close your eyes.
The light is awake for both of you.
