Leaving the Room Without Leaving the Love
The afternoon sun is bright, and the room is full of laughter you just sparked. They are leaning in, eyes crinkled, completely unaware that you are already saying goodbye in your head.
You are memorizing the sound of their joy so you can carry it into the silence you are about to choose. It feels like a betrayal to smile while planning your own absence.
But the light does not require you to stay in the room to be present with them. The connection you feel right now—the warmth in your chest as they laugh—is not a trick.
It is the truth. The distance you are imagining is a shadow, but the love that made them laugh is real.
That love is the light, and it does not vanish when you walk out the door. You can leave the place without leaving the love.
The laughter was not a lie; it was a glimpse of the light that holds you both, even when you are apart.
