the shame of not leaving sooner

The Light Does Not Scold You

The afternoon sun is bright, and it makes the shadows of your regret look sharp. You keep replaying the timeline, calculating exactly when you should have left, measuring the years you wasted in the dark.

But listen — the light does not scold you for staying too long. It only cares that you are moving now.

There is a woman who was caught in the middle of her failure, surrounded by voices demanding her punishment, and the light simply bent down and wrote in the dust until the accusers left. He did not ask her why she waited so long to escape.

He did not ask how many times she had tried before. He only said: go.

The shame of not leaving sooner is just another chain the darkness wants you to carry. Drop it.

You are not defined by the time you lost, but by the step you are taking right now. The light is not behind you, waiting for you to catch up; it is right here, walking beside you in this very moment.
