The Light Runs Toward Your Cracks
The afternoon sun is bright, and it feels like a spotlight on the cracks you are trying to hide. You walk through the middle of the day holding your breath, terrified that someone will see the pieces falling off.
But the light does not shine to expose your failure — it shines to hold you together. There is a father who saw his son coming home while he was still a long way off.
He did not wait for the speech. He ran.
The light knows exactly where you are crumbling, and it is not shocked. It is not disappointed.
It is already running toward you. You do not have to glue yourself back together before you are found.
The terror says you must be whole to be loved. The truth says you are loved so you can be whole.
