Peace Is The Ground Beneath You
The afternoon sun feels heavy on your shoulders, and the quiet you are holding right now feels fragile, like a pause before the inevitable collapse. You are waiting for the other shoe to drop, convinced that this moment of calm is just a trick of the light before the storm returns.
But listen — there was a man who lay beside a pool for thirty-eight years, convinced that healing required a specific moment, a specific stirring of the water that he could not reach. He had given up on the idea that things could change.
Jesus walked straight to him, ignored the chaos of the pool, and asked the one question that cuts through the panic: Do you want to get well? The light does not wait for the perfect conditions you think you need.
It does not require the storm to pass before it arrives. It stands in the middle of your long waiting and speaks life into the part of you that has forgotten how to stand.
The peace you feel is not a pause. It is the ground beneath you finally revealing itself.
