You Are the Sound, Not the Echo
The afternoon sun exposes the gap between the voice inside your head and the one echoing from the speaker. It sounds foreign.
Thin. Like an imposter wearing your name.
You want to silence the recording, to hide the mismatch between who you feel you are and how you sound to the world. But notice — the light does not stutter when it shines through a cracked window.
It simply pours out. There is a voice that lives within you, older and truer than the tremor you hear on the tape.
That voice was placed there before the first word was ever spoken. The recording captures the effort, but it misses the source.
You are not the echo. You are the sound.
