The Light Has Already Covered You
The afternoon stretches out, long and flat, and your mind keeps circling back to that one moment. The sentence that tangled.
The pause that felt like an eternity. You are convinced everyone saw it, that they are still talking about how you stumbled.
But the light sees something else. It sees the dust motes dancing in the sunbeams, quiet and ordinary, unaware of your shame.
The kingdom is spread out upon the earth, right here in this mundane hour, and you do not see it because you are looking at your own feet. The light does not care about the stumble.
It is present in the very air you are breathing, in the work you are trying to finish. You think you are exposed, but the truth is that the light has already covered you.
The moment you fear is gone. The light remains.
