Rest While Still Standing in the Day
The afternoon stretches out, a long corridor of noise where you are performing a version of yourself that feels just slightly too tight. You are exhausted from rehearsing every sentence before you speak, terrified that one slip-up will reveal the flaw you are hiding behind the smile.
But the light does not need your perfection to see you. It sees the effort it costs you to hold the mask in place, and it is not disappointed — it is gentle.
There is a rest available right here in the middle of the day, not when the work is done, but while you are still standing in it. The truth is already known, and it has not driven the light away.
You do not have to manage the outcome of every conversation to be held. The flaw you fear is the very place where the light shines through.
