The Light Held Them While You Rested
The afternoon light is heavy, and the house is quiet in that specific way that follows exhaustion. You sit on the edge of the bed, haunted by a fear that your tiredness taught your children to hide their pain.
That when they needed you most, you were too drained to see them, so they learned to swallow their tears to spare you one more burden. But listen — the light does not require your perfect attention to find them.
It was in the room even when your eyes were closed. It saw them when you could not.
There is a love in your home that never sleeps, never misses a cue, and never looks away. Your fatigue did not abandon them; the light held them while you rested.
You are not the only pair of eyes watching over your children. The One who knows every hidden thing has been seeing them all along.
