The Light Remembers When You Cannot
The afternoon light is flat, and in this long middle, the terror rises that if you forget their face, you lose them forever. You scan your mind for the curve of a smile, the exact shade of an eye, and find only a blur.
Panic says this fading is a second death. But the light does not live in your memory.
It lives in your root. There is a love that holds them even when your mind lets go.
You are not the guardian of their existence. The light is.
And that light remembers them perfectly, even when you cannot. Rest in the knowing that you are held, not by your own grip, but by the One who never forgets a single name.
