You Are the Branch, Not the Shield
The afternoon light is flat and heavy, pressing down on shoulders that have been carrying the world since dawn. You are tired.
Not just in your muscles, but in the quiet, secret place where you wonder if you are enough. There is a terror that lives there—a fear that one day your child will look back and see only your exhaustion, blaming you for the dark you couldn't hold back.
But listen. The light does not ask you to be a wall.
It never asked you to stand between them and the night alone. You are not the shield; you are the vessel.
When you are too tired to speak, the light still hums in the room. When you have nothing left to give, the Love that holds you both is still pouring.
You were not made to be the source. You were made to be the branch.
And the Vine does not blame the branch for needing rest. It only asks that you remain.
Your weariness is not a failure of love. It is the honest ground where you stop pretending and let the light carry what you cannot.
