The Light Does Not Need Your Composure
The afternoon demands a performance you no longer have the strength to give. You walk through the office, the store, the hallway, smiling while your hands shake beneath the surface.
It is exhausting to hold the mask up when the face beneath it is crumbling. But the light does not need your composure.
It does not require you to be steady to be seen. There is a truth that lives inside you, deeper than the tremor, quieter than the panic.
It was placed there before the shaking started. You do not have to stop the quake to be held by it.
The light is not afraid of your noise. It is not waiting for you to get it together.
It is walking right beside you in the middle of the mess. You can let the smile drop for a second.
The world will not end. And the One who is with you will not look away.
