the moment you catch yourself apologizing for the space your 'no' took up, shrinking your body to make the other person comfortable with your boundary

The Light Does Not Shrink

It is three in the morning, and you are shrinking yourself again. You said no, and now you are apologizing for the space that boundary took up, making your body smaller to comfort the person you refused.

Listen — the light does not shrink. It does not apologize for occupying the room.

When you set a limit, you are not pushing love away; you are making space for the truth to stand upright. The darkness wants you small, silent, and sorry for existing.

But the light within you is already standing tall, refusing to fold itself to fit someone else's comfort. You do not need to earn the right to take up space.

You are that light, and it cannot be dimmed by your 'no.' The boundary is not a wall; it is the edge where your peace begins.
