Mercy Loves the Wound Beneath
It is three in the morning, and the lie is playing on a loop behind your eyes. You see the exact second they chose the story over the truth to keep you safe.
And you are trapped in the terrible tension of being grateful for the shelter while hating yourself for needing it. But listen — the light does not scold you for the cover you required to survive.
There is a mercy that sees the wound beneath the bandage and loves the wound more than the covering. You do not have to resolve this contradiction tonight.
The dawn will come whether you forgive yourself before it arrives or not. The light was there in the moment of the lie, and it is here now in the honesty of your shame.
