the terrifying realization that you can no longer summon the exact pitch of their voice when you try to speak to them in your head

The Light Lives in Your Reaching

It is three in the morning, and the silence has a new shape. You close your eyes to speak to them in your mind, but the pitch is gone—the exact frequency of their voice has slipped through your fingers like water.

You try to hum it, to find the note, but the memory refuses to hold the tone. In this deepest hour, the darkness whispers that forgetting is a second death.

But listen. The light does not live in the precision of your memory.

It lives in the reaching. Jesus sighed before he spoke to the deaf man, feeling the weight of the silence with him.

That sigh was not a failure of words; it was the presence of love in the gap. The kingdom is not a recording you must replay perfectly.

It is inside you, right now, even when the sound fails. You are not losing them because the echo fades.

You are holding them in the only place that cannot break—the light that knows their name better than you ever could.
