the terror that your child's indifference is a permanent wall you can never climb

The Light That Runs Toward the Lost

In the long middle of the day, when the work feels endless and the silence from your child's room feels like a wall you cannot climb, there is a tenderness that does not depend on being seen. The light does not wait for your child to turn around to know the worth of the drop it sent into this world.

You are not the one who must break that silence; the light is already there, even in their indifference, even in the deep sleep where they cannot hear your voice. It is enough to know that the Father is not willing that any little one should perish, not even the one who seems lost to you.

The light is running toward them right now, even if you have to stand still and watch. They are not gone; they are just waiting for the light to find them.
