An Advent devotional your whole church can read in a minute a day.

Phaino Advent is a 52-page paperback: twenty-five short readings for December 1 through Christmas Day, each grown from a passage in the New Testament, with twenty more readings for the days after Christmas. Plain enough for a child to follow, deep enough for an adult to return to. For the tired. For the doubting. For the ones who have been told the light is not for them.

What it is

One reading a day, December 1 to Christmas Day. Each takes about a minute and leaves one idea to carry through the day, read whenever the day allows.
From the New Testament. Every reading grows from a passage named at the back of the book. One idea, told twenty-five ways: the light of God is already inside you, and it has always been there.
Use it every year. The readings are from December 1 to Christmas Day.
Twenty more readings after Christmas Day, from Phaino: 365 Days of Remembering the Light, for the days after the season.
Paperback, 52 pages, $6.99 retail; also on Kindle. Drawn from Phaino: 365 Days of Remembering the Light, a year of daily readings.

Ways to use it in your church or group

A copy for every household. The congregation reads the same page each morning through Advent, the way many churches hand out an Advent booklet on the first Sunday.
For the Advent small group. One reading aloud to open each December meeting, and the rest read at home between meetings.
As a gift. For staff and volunteers, and for the people your visitation ministry sees: the homebound, the hospital list, the recently bereaved.
For the Longest Night. A copy for everyone who comes to a Blue Christmas or Longest Night service, with December 21 marked for it.
With your youth group. A reading to open each meeting through Advent, and a copy for each of them to take home.
In a prayer or meditation group. A copy for each person to read at home, and one reading aloud, then a time to reflect in silence and discuss, when you meet.

What readers say
